Jeff, your guide and teacher

Home

Hello everyone, my name is Jeff Eagar and I will be your teacher and guide for English Walk and Talk.

Jeff in the hills

I have been living in Japan for three years and I love Japan. I love the food (sashimi is my favorite), the history (especially Japanese poetry), sports (sumo is great), and I am addicted to my local sento (there are no sentos in Canada). I think Japanese people are great and I really enjoy the beautiful Japanese nature. These are the reasons why I started this English conversation hike.

I am a kind person and patient teacher. I enjoy teaching English to Japanese people. Japanese students are very hard workers and very keen to learn. Japanese people love English, but sometimes they don't love to study English. English Walk and Talk makes studying fun.

I believe that if people don't have fun studying they will never achieve their goal of speaking English. I also believe that a healthy body is as important as a healthy mind. So that is why I combined hiking with English conversation.

You can learn more about me here, or why not have a look at our wonderful hikes on this page.

The history of English Walk and Talk

This school was created because speaking is the most important way to learn English. Many Japanese people practice reading and writing but rarely get the chance to speak English. Housewives and business presidents, university students and salary men, they all say the same thing - they want more opportunity to practice speaking English. There are no textbooks, no boring classrooms, no city disturbances. It is all English conversation in beautiful nature.
